In the beginning ...

Hello, my sonshine! 

Here is a spot on the internet just for you, and for anyone you choose to share this with as you start filling it up. This is a space where you can share your ideas, your thoughts and your creativity through writing. Using your words, you can create a description of the perfect Minecraft community, jot down your favorite memories from a favorite family vacation or record the stories of Katie, Molly and Bailey so we never forget. You might write a persuasive essay to convince Dad and me to finally get you a kitten, or you might share excerpts from the story you want to write with Ashlyn. Maybe you just make a list one day of all your favorite things or you craft a journal entry on a particularly special day.

I'll assign you some topics and specific things to write sometimes, but other times I just want you to come in here and write. Having the ability to communicate well in writing is a life skill you'll use forever and it will always benefit you, whether it helps you get the dream job you want in your future or just tell the story of your life for generations to come. 

I can't wait to help you with this and watch what you end up creating. I know you won't always feel like writing and sometimes you likely will fight me on it, but I think you'll be proud of yourself at the end of this writing journey together. Together ... I'm here with you to help inspire, educate, edit, suggest, cheer ... or even just back off if you need a break sometimes too.
